If you are committed to improving your health and your mood, or any other aspect of your life, don’t give up at the first hurdle or obstacle – know that you have what it takes to stay the course.
Believe in yourself!
The process of change takes time: Your current health status was caused by years of not listening to what your body needed, so have compassion for yourself during the change process. If you are patient and follow the recommendations, you will be surprised at what you can achieve. A change in lifestyle may be difficult to undertake but keep focusing on your goal and commit.
Listen to your body and not your mind: So many of us here in the Western world are disconnected from our own body. Learn to listen to your body as it will always tell you exactly what it needs. Does it need to rest, movement, warm foods, cold foods, sour foods, salty foods, massage etc? By following your body’s clues, you will be on the right path to good health and boundless energy. It can take time to train yourself to notice your body’s signals. Know that what feels right one day, may feel wrong the next. Trust your instincts, not your ego, as to what is right at any given moment.
Don’t expect to be perfect: Life is a process of growth and development. If you fail to listen to what your body needs for a few days, acknowledge it and then make a commitment to go back to it. Be gentle with yourself – have compassion.
Accept your limits and live within their confines: Unfortunately, you can’t change the constitution you were born with, all you can do is make sure that you don’t drain your natural energy supplies dry. It’s actually detrimental to your health to push your body beyond its limits
Avoid comparing your capacity with someone else’s: This just doesn’t work as we are all built differently. All you can do is compare yourself with yourself. Look at how far you’ve come as the months go past. Be proud of the changes you’ve made and what you have achieved.
Know when to ask for help: You don’t have to do this alone. Always know when to ask for help. Listen to your gut as it will always let you know what’s right for you.
Personal responsibility: Accept responsibility for your journey to health and energy. Know that you can affect the outcome with every lifestyle choice you make.
